Hi!

I’ve had quite a bit of blog traffic through the site lately so I wanted to introduce myself to my (new) readers. First off thanks for stopping by!

How it Started

I started Apothea in June of 2020 (right at the beginning of Covid) mostly because I wanted a place to talk about my pharmacy-life and what was going on in the healthcare space. And if I’m being honest I was social-distancing myself and I had extra time on my hands. I’ve always wanted to be a writer, and blogging seemed like a good place to start!

How its Going

Apothea has evolved quite a bit since inception (and continues to do so!) and I love the direction it's going! I am currently working exclusively for a small healthcare start-up, we are a 3 person team! Being on a small team has opened my eyes to all that business owners have to do, as I am currently helping out and doing all the things!

One of my goals for last year was to make Apothea profitable, I didn’t publicly share it because I was afraid I couldn’t do it. BUT I’m very proud to say that it was!!! I actually did quite well, considering how much time I commit to it. Now I can’t go quitting my job or anything like that, but for a small (side hustle) I’m very pleased.

What I’ve Learned

I’ve learned that working with one client is my capacity right now. I am a mom to 2 small kiddos, and really loving this sweet season of life.

I am passionately pursuing some personal goals, such as running a ½ marathon in february. And I am still working on my Board Certification, that could be an entire blog-post of its own!

Recently I got the opportunity to write for a (print) magazine and that's been a big highlight of 2022 (so far!). In writing for the magazine I had to rewrite my bio, because a few things have changed! I’ll share it below!

I’ve also found an outlet in writing for medium. It’s easy, and I enjoy interaction with people on that platform. While it hasn’t opened any doors for me yet, I am learning so much!

I wanted to share a few things that have helped me along the way! I recently read the book Business Minded, its a good read for anyone considering taking the next step into starting a business, blog, new venture! I’ve also loved this book, when you are in the early stages and looking to build habits to get a solid start!
