Four Thousand Weeks Book Review
Thoughts on Reading More
I’ve been spending a lot of time reading books, I love a good book! I try to alternative between a book that I learn something from, with a book that entertains me with a good story. I recently downloaded audible and I highly recommend it. On days that I want to read, but I can’t keep my eyes open I just pop in my airpods and listen to the story. I also enjoy going out on long walks, and audible allows me to listen to a story while doing something physical. Learn more about audible here!
Four Thousand Weeks Time Management for Mortals
I downloaded Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals, thinking I was going to learn some time management skills. Instead I found myself re-evaluating how I spend my time. The book drives home the fact that our time is limited (which we all know!) but it's not something I think about. The normal human life is limited to four thousand weeks! The book is about “How to accept your limited time on earth and spend it meaningfully”.
My Takeaways
My biggest takeaway is to take action now, since our time is limited. I find myself guilty of waiting until the “stars align” before doing the thing! Instead you need to find what matters, focus on one thing at a time, and remind me that I should make bold moves now- everyone is winging it!
Another takeaway was about social media. You go onto the site and find yourself caring about all the wrong things, and not to mention too many things. It made me reevaluate my usage of social media, and instead focus on relationships that matter.
I think this is a book that everyone should read (or listen to)! I plan on listening to it every year, as a reminder to get myself into motion.
