The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

Book Review

I’m on a reading roll and I have a bunch of audiobooks on reserve at my library via Overdrive. However I came across The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life and I needed to read it right away so I downloaded it on Audible, and started listening immediately.

My Takeaways

I will forewarn you that there is some profanity and at first I was slightly bothered by it, but as the book progressed it didn’t seem to bother me anymore. There were parts of this book that felt like it was written specifically for me. As a child and probably until very recently I cared greatly about the way I was seen and perceived by the world. This book exposed this flaw in me (and I’m sure many other people suffer with this) and really helped me look past it.

The book teaches you how all humans are flawed and there are only so many things you can care about. The book is read by Roger Wayne and is a nice compilation of stories that help drive home the point. It took me about 5 hours to finish the book, it was easy to listen to. I do wish that I would have had a physical copy of the book because there were sections that I would have highlighted to go back and read again.
