Altreno Review
The first time I came across this prescription lotion was when I was reviewing my warehouse order for the day and noticed the higher price associated with it. Anything over $100 along with being a new prescription is an alert to call the patient and make sure that they are aware of the price. There is nothing worse than shocking a patient with a high price at the pharmacy counter.
I called and she answered, I told her the price and she said “Well, my dermatologist swears by it so I will pay for it and try it”. I placed the order and it was there the next day. As I was checking in the order I decided I was going to do some research to find out more about it. The product is tretinoin formulated as a lotion with collagen and hyaluronic acid. I was intrigued to see if those extra components justified the higher price point.
The patient continued to refill the medication, and one day she came in to pick it up and her skin looked absolutely glowing. I asked her how she was liking it, and she told me that she saw a big difference.
At this point I was sold, I went to my PCP and asked for a prescription to try out myself. Here is what I noticed:
My sunspots lightened up within the first 30 days.
I had some minor peeling at first but as my skin got used to it it started to clear up some blackheads.
My skin is brighter and tighter since using it.
I use it every other night, and on the opposite day I used a really heavy moisturizer which limits the dryness (that tretinoin can cause). I plan on continuing it for a couple months and see if I notice any other changes!
